The Tiger is a latest-generation combat helicopter developed in Franco-German cooperation by the Eurocopter group. She entered service in both French and German armies fall 2004.
She was launched in fall 80s. The Tiger is the first helicopter made of composite materials. She is designed to deliver more performance and operational capabilities than any worldwide serviceable attack helicopter.
Often criticized, worried for budgetary reasons but never actually threatened, it is now considered as a symbol of European cooperation.
Ordered by France and Germany (80 machines for each country), Tiger gets his credibility export in 2001 with an order for 22 aircraft from Australia. Fall 2003, Spain announced his intention to order 24 Tiger helicopters.
This book tells the history of this program, as technologically than commercially and economically. It is based on photographs taken by Rémy Michelin, with the first French and German operational Tigers.
